Transition Images Pictures that change from 100 years ago to the same postion now

East Street
East Street used to be the main market street in Chichester until the market was moved to just outside the East Gate, This image shows on the left the old Corn Exchange and on in the distance the Cathedral Spire and Bell Tower. The transition sweeps into a dull day in December, Christmas shopping in full flow. The Corn Exchange once again changing guise, for the last ten years or so it has been a McDonalds it is now changing into a Next. Through the ages it has been a Market, a Theatre, a Cinema, a Fastfood joint and now for the tim being a ladies cloths shop. I wonder what it will be next.
Photographers Note.
Taking this shot was probably one of th easier ones that I did however it is not quite correct, the buildings on the right do not quite line up correctly, also you might note that the corn exchange roof and the spire are spot on but the bell tower jumps significantly. I think some of this is to do with barell distortion of the old lenses that were used in the pictures and quite simply not being in the correct position. But I like the effect. Please feel free to leave comments or locations that you would like a before an after shot taken of, I'll see what I can do.
